BRIDGING THE EDUCATIONAL GAP

One Idea Foundation began out of a need to bridge the gaps between public education and the workforce needs of private sector industries. The result is delivering solutions for students and filling the need for market-ready graduates while shaping the change required to align public education with our economy. 

The Foundation is dedicated to accelerating the opportunities for students to discover who they are while gaining experience that prepares them for their future work environment. Our data shows that if we intrigue and excite students during school to engage in planning their career paths, they construct portfolios that support academic success while building life and job skills.

Reframing Public Education

One Idea Foundation (OIF) builds partnerships with private corporations and organizations to bridge their resources into education and bring about real and sustainable change that provides as many students as possible access to a transformative model of learning capable of narrowing the massive skills gap facing industry’s present and future workforces.

In partnership with Learn to Start, One Idea drives five specific initiatives to accomplish its mission

We partner with industry and school districts to make the Learn to Start, K-Market Program available to all K-20 public school students no matter the economic restraints. ​

We partner with industry and public school districts to assist in launching innovation schools founded in the LTS solution that represent a transformative and relevant model of learning capable of aligning to 21st-Century workforce demands.

We partner with industry to launch stand-alone, K-12 One Idea private concept schools founded in the Learn to Start model. These are schools that represent the future of education using a transformative and disruptive solution aligned to developing market-ready students in direct partnership with industry.

We partner with Industry to support the Learn to Start EDU Institute. The Institute builds the capabilities of teachers and their administrators to create a culture that develops students who are market-ready by graduation. Our goal is to provide a path for attracting teachers who are industry certified and therefore, linked to workforce needs. This is accomplished by creating supplemental funding to support the development and placement of teachers in public school classrooms.

We gather and report research and data on the state of education, government and industry as well as reporting on the advancements and outcomes accomplished by the LTS solution throughout the world. We also partner with governments to drive legislative change.
